Bajaj Auto has finally launched its highly anticipated and premium bike in India, the Pulsar NS400Z. This bike packs a lot of features, performance and more, at an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 1.85 lakh.
Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z: Design and Features
This 400cc homegrown bike looks very unique, as a whole, but shares many design bits with the rest of the Pulsar bikes. The mono projector LED headlamp setup at the front can be seen on other Pulsars like the N250, but the way it has been wrapped inside flash-shaped LED DRLs is something unique to this bike. All-in-all, the bike looks sharp and muscular, which gives an aggressive road presence.
The tank design, split seat design, engine cowl, rear profile, underbelly exhaust and taillight design may remind you of NS 200 from some angles but the new graphics and beefy engine make the bike look distinct from the rest of the lineup.
Propelling the Pulsar NS400Z is the good old 373cc liquid-cooled petrol burner, which has been borrowed from the Dominor400. This powerhouse generates 40hp at 8800rpm and 35Nm at 6500rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch. According to the brand, the bike can achieve a top speed of 154kph.
The NS400Z rolls on 110/70-17 front and 140/70-17 rear tyres and the suspension duties are taken care of by the 43mm upside-down forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. The braking setup is from the Gremica, the front is a 320 mm disc with a 4-piston Grimeca axial caliper and the rear gets a 230 mm disc.
In terms of features, the bike gets a digital dashboard with two small screens, navigation, music controls, a lap timer, four riding modes, three levels of traction control, and switchable dual-channel ABS.
