75000 Units Sold of the Hyundai Alcazar Since its Debut

Hyundai India has achieved a 75,000-unit sales milestone since its debut in India. Hence, it took the company three years to secure that figure.

Hyundai India introduced their three-row SUV, the Alcazar, in June 2021. Since its India debut, the Korean automobile manufacturer managed to sell 75000 units of this compact SUV in the country.

Hence, it took three years to achieve that milestone.

Sales Overview

Hyundai in India also exported 27,176 units of the Alcazar to international markets, totalling overall sales of 1,02,682 units. In the previous fiscal year (FY24), the company sold 20,753 units in India, down by 22%.

However, they did manage to sell the SUV in good numbers in FY23. That said, they sold 26,696 units of it in that period.  

But in the first two months (April-May 2024) of the current fiscal year (FY25), the domestic sales of the Alcazar SUV stood at 2,163 units, representing a 52% decline from what they sold during April-May 2023. In that period in 2023, they sold 4480 units of it. 

Interestingly, the company reported a 45% (YoY) growth in the export market. Hyundai exported 2130 units of the Alcazar during April-May 2024, making it more than what it sold during April-May 2023, rated at 1466 units. 

Hyundai Alcazar: Specifications

The Hyundai Alcazar has two engine options: a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel unit. 

The former unit (TGDi Petrol) produces a peak power of 157.57bhp at 5500rpm and 253Nm of torque between 1500-3500rpm. The latter unit (CRDi Diesel) produces 113.98bhp at 4000rpm and 250Nm of torque between 1500-2750rpm. 

Both engines are available in manual and automatic versions. 

Hyundai Alcazar: Features

The features include dual 10.25-inch displays (one for infotainment and the other for instrument cluster), ambient lighting, auto HVAC, panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, dual-tone horn, ventilated front seats, connected car technology, and dashcam setup. 

In terms of safety, this SUV has six airbags (as standard), ISOFIX child-seat anchorages, hill-start assist control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, all-wheel disc brakes, a 360-degree camera, rear parking sensors, etc. 

Hyundai Alcazar: Pricing

As for the Hyundai Alcazar pre-facelift's price, this SUV has a starting price of Rs 16.77 lakh for the base variant, Prestige Turbo-Petrol MT 7 STR, and goes up to Rs 21.28 lakh for the top variant, Signature (O) Adventure Diesel AT 7 STR. 

All are ex-showroom figures, as of June 2024.  

This Korean three-row SUV (available in 6- and 7-seater layouts) takes the likes of the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and MG Hector, to name a few.
