As 2025 draws to a close, the Indian car market is gearing up for an exciting finish. At least five new SUVs are lined up for launch over the next two months, with some already officially confirmed. From bold redesigns to much-awaited electric debuts, here’s a look at the models set to make headlines.
1. The All-New Hyundai Venue
The Hyundai Venue is stepping into its second generation with a major makeover. Expect a sharper exterior, more cabin space, and a long list of new features. Highlights include dual 12.3-inch curved screens running Hyundai’s latest ccNC software, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and 2-step reclining rear seats for better passenger comfort. The official launch is scheduled for November 4.
2. The Return of the Tata Sierra
After more than two decades, the Tata Sierra is set for a grand comeback. The new model will retain the classic boxy stance while offering a modern, practical interior. Positioned against rivals like the Hyundai Creta and VW Taigun, it’s expected to launch in November. Tata will also introduce the Sierra.ev, an all-electric version likely to bring all-wheel-drive capability to the table.
3. The Updated Tata Punch
Tata is also readying a facelift for the Punch, which should arrive next month. Changes will include redesigned bumpers, new headlights, and 16-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the compact SUV is tipped to feature a new dashboard, a steering wheel with an illuminated logo, and an updated digital instrument cluster. While mechanicals are expected to remain the same, the Punch.ev might get a bigger battery pack for improved range.
4. Mahindra’s Electric XEV 7e
Mahindra is preparing to launch the XEV 7e, the electric version of its popular XUV700. Unlike the futuristic XEV 9e, this one will keep a more conventional SUV design with a three-row layout. It will be packed with premium features such as a touchscreen for the front passenger, seven airbags, and an AR-based head-up display. Performance also looks promising, with a 0-100 km/h time of about seven seconds and a potential range of up to 575 km. Mahindra has already confirmed an EV launch in November, and this could very well be it.
5. Maruti’s First EV: The e Vitara
Closing the year is Maruti Suzuki’s first-ever EV, the e Vitara, expected in December. Aimed at rivals like the Hyundai Creta EV and Mahindra XUV400, it will come with 18-inch alloy wheels, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 10-way power driver’s seat, and seven airbags. Buyers will get two versions to choose from — a standard range and a long-range variant, with the latter expected to cross 500 km on a full charge.
