Upcoming Smartphones in India in September 2024: iPhone 16, Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim, and More

This September can also be referred as TECHTEMBER as several brands have announced their smartphone launches for this month. September is also the month when Apple unevils its new iPhones which the brand has already confirmed for this month. Beside that, Infinix Hot 50, TECNO Phantom V Fold2, Flip 2, and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim are rumoured to launch in September 2024. In this article, we have curated the list of upcoming smartphones launching in September in India across all price segments. 

iPhone 16 Series

Apple is all set to introduce the iPhone 16 Series on September 9, 2024 and it will be one of the most anticipated smartphone launches of the year. Going by the tradition, Apple is expected to launch four devices in the series: iPhone16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max. The iPhone 16's biggest highlight will be Apple Intelligence and improved Siri.  The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will have an additional capture button whereas the base model 16 and 16 Plus will take Action button from the iPhone 15 Pro Series. The Apple A18 Bionic chipset will power the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, whereas the A18 Pro SoC will power the Pro and Pro Max versions.

Infinix HOT 50 5G 

Infinix has confirmed that it will be launching the HOT 50 5G in September in India. The brand claims that it India's slimmest 5G smartphone in its segment with a thickness of just 7.8mm. It will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G chipset paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It will be available in two colours - Blue and Black. 

Realme NARZO 70 Turbo 5G

Realme India has teased the launch of their budget-oriented device, NARZO 70 Turbo. According to a listing on Amazon India, the smartphone will have a motorsport-inspired design and a new turbo technology for better performance. In the teaser image, the device has a vertical yellow stripe on its back and unlike other NARZO devices, this one has a square module consisting of triple rear camera setup and an LED flashlight. Other import specifications and pricing details of the device remain under the curtains as of now, however, since the brand has dropped the teaser, we expect it to arrive really soon.

TECNO Phantom V Fold 2, V Flip 2

Tecno’s next generation of foldable smartphones, Phantom V Fold 2 and Phantom V Flip 2 are expected to launch soon as the devices were recently spotted on a retailers website. The Phantom V Flip 2 is expected to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset and run Android 14. It could also have a 6.9-inch full-HD+ AMOLED panel on the inside and a 1.32-inch cover display with a 466x466 pixels resolution. The device is expected to be priced at around Rs 60,000 upon its India launch.

As per the leaks, the Phantom V Fold 2 is expected to arrive with a triple 50MP rear camera setup and will have a full 180-degree opening hinge. As per the leaks and rumours, the device is expected to start at around Rs 90,000, however, it may vary at the official Indian launch which is expected to take place in September.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim

Samsung is all set to launch another folding phone this year, which may either be called Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim or Galaxy Z Fold6 Special Edition. According to rumours, this will be the slimmest foldable phone from Samsung. It will be anywhere from 10.8mm to 11.5mm thin when closed. The device is also expected to get the largest displays to date costing a 6.5-inch cover display and an 8-inch internal display. The inner display selfie camera is also expected to be bumped up to a 5MP unit instead of the 4MP unit on the standard model. The device is expected to debut on September 28, 2024. It will initially launch in the Chinese and Korean markets and will later make its way to the other markets.
