One UI 8
Samsung has officially launched the One UI 8 beta program, just months after releasing One UI 7. In a surprise move, the company is fast-tracking Android 16 for its latest flagship foldables—the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7—which will be the first smartphones to launch with Android 16 and One UI 8 pre-installed. This accelerated update rollout appears to be a response to the previous delays with One UI 7 and aims to keep Samsung’s flagship devices ahead in terms of software experience.
One UI 8 Already Available
The One UI 8 beta is currently available for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra models in select regions, including Germany, South Korea, the UK, and the US. Eligible users in these countries can register for the beta to get an early look at Android 16 with Samsung’s latest UI enhancements.
One UI 8 focuses heavily on AI-powered experiences, productivity improvements, and convenience features. Samsung has emphasized the update's ability to adapt to various device form factors, which is crucial for foldables. Key features include upgraded versions of Now Bar and Now Brief, both of which use on-device AI for personalized suggestions and layouts. Additionally, a revamped Quick Share tool introduces clearly separated “Send” and “Receive” tabs for more intuitive file sharing.

Samsung Internet also gets minor upgrades in One UI 8, such as new shortcut placements and menu tweaks to improve usability. While not all features have been fully revealed, Samsung has confirmed that the beta experience will showcase a number of UI enhancements, giving users a taste of what’s coming in the full release.
The official launch of Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 is expected at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event this summer, alongside the stable rollout of One UI 8. After the foldables, Samsung will gradually extend the One UI 8 update to more Galaxy devices.
With One UI 8, Samsung is pushing forward not just a new OS version but a smarter and more personalized user experience—especially for users of its latest premium and foldable devices.
