Chinese smartphone maker Realme has launched the GT Neo 6 in China. The brand will launch this phone in India very soon, however, the date is still behind the curtains.
For mid-range buyers, Realme makes high-performance-oriented phones under the 'GT' umbrella. Realme's 'P' series is also a performance series but caters to budget-conscious buyers.
The phone will come with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and 12GB LPDDR 5x RAM, 256GB (base model, 1TB highest model) UFS 4.0 storage, and to handle high graphics, the processor is clubbed with Adreno 735GPU. If numbers are confusing you, let us make it easy for you.
What is UFS 4.0?
It is an upgraded version of the UFS 3 series, and with this storage type, you can transfer data up to 23.3 GB per second, which is twice more than phones with UFS 3.1. It is also worth noting that UFS 4.0 consumes 40% less power than its older version.
What is the difference between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and the Snapdragon 8s Gen 1?
Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 falls between Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The clock speed of Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is 10% slower than 8 Gen 3. That said, the former has 3000 MHz, while the latter has 3300 MHz.
The GT Neo 6 has a 6.67’’ LTPO AMOLED 1.5K display with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and 450 PPI density for a crisp viewing experience. You get deep black and vivid colours because of the AMOLED panel, and you can also save battery life because LTPO technology can go as low as 1Hz and as high as 120Hz.
Realme has shifted to Android 14 for all the latest products, and this one also comes with Android 14 out of the box. The product weighs 191 grams and has a thickness of 8.65mm, giving it a feel similar to gaming or performance-oriented phones.
Realme has incorporated a high-quality camera setup on the GT Neo 6 phone, featuring a 50MP Sony IMX882 with a f/1.9 aperture (26mm), optical stabilization, and an 8MP ultrawide Sony IMX355 sensor for the secondary camera. It’s good to see that they decided to go with a Sony sensor for the front camera, which has a 32 MP Sony IMX615.
You can shoot 4K videos up to 60fps with the main camera and the same 4K resolution video with the front camera but capped at 30 frames per second.
The company has selected a 5500mAh non-removable battery for this model which supports 120W fast charging. Realme claims that you can charge the handset from 1 to 50% within 10 minutes.
Realme GT Neo 6 is available for 2099 Yuan in China (approximately Rs. 24734). If they manage to bring that device under Rs. 30,000, it will carry the 'game-changer' moniker in the mid-range segment.
