Poco has launched a new budget smartphone in India named X6 Neo. Starting at Rs 15,999, the newly launched smartphone is the most affordable in Poco's X6 series earlier comprising of X6 and X6 Pro. The smartphone comes with a flat frame design, water and dust resistance. The Poco X6 Neo goes up against Realme 12 5G, Redmi Note 13 5G.
Poco X6 Neo features a 6.67” FHD+ AMOLED display with 1,000 nits of peak brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Powering Poco X6 Neo is MediaTek Dimensity 6080 chipset, which is built on 6nm architecture, and for handling the graphic duties, it gets Mali G57 MC2 GPU. It also comes equipped with up to 8 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and up to 128 GB of UFS 2.1 storage. There is support for virtual RAM and the storage can also be expanded up to 1 TB by using the inbuilt microSD slot. There is a 5,000mAh battery with support of 33watt fast-charging support and the charger is provided in the box.
Poco has given X6 Neo Android 13 based MIUI 14 and promised 2 major OS updates in the future. It is a little disappointing to see manufacturers still launching phones based on Android 13 when Android 14 has been available since October 2023.
The Poco X6 Neo gets a dual rear camera setup, the main is a 108MP sensor and the secondary is a 2MP depth sensor. The device gets a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. Poco X6 Neo also features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, which is embedded in the power button and since this is a budget phone, the 3.5mm jack is still present so the buyer can use wired earphones conveniently.
