Moto has always received praise for providing a near-stock Android experience in all categories of phones. But recently, Moto unveiled a new UI based on the Android platform named Hello UI and integrated with AI features in the Motorola Edge 50 Pro.
Only the pre-installed Facebook and LinkedIn apps come with the new Motorola Hello UI, and of course, users do have an option to uninstall these apps. Over the past few days, Xiaomi has updated the software completely, introducing a new UI known as Hyper OS, and that too, without removing any bloatware.
So, let's explore the offerings of this new 'Hello UI' software from Motorola.
The Motorola Hello UI Features:
Boot Animation: When you turn on the device, a satisfying "Hello Moto" boot animation greets you, followed by a lock screen's display. When we first noticed 'Moto Hub', we found it to be a place where ads and news were displayed. Although you have the option to disable it, but the ad loadings often cause the Hello UI to jitter and lack smoothness.
Smart Connect and Moto Unplugged: With the Smart Connect app, you can easily connect your Motorola smartphone to your PC for streaming and data transfer, and you can also use your phone's camera as a webcam. The app is good for creating an ecosystem with any tablet or PC.
Another useful app is Moto Unplugged; it’s a semi-DND application. We can turn on the application for a particular time, and you can also choose ‘No time limit’ to turn it off manually. You can also choose important apps to send notifications within your preferred time frame.
Control Centre: The control centre looks similar to iOS and Oxygen OS. You can finish the monochrome style with a background blur effect. The control centre is positioned around the music control icon, while the top right corner houses key control panels such as brightness and volume toggles. There are some smart features taken from the regular Android OS. For instance, the auto brightness selection point in the brightness toggle.
Customise with AI: This skin is customizable like other Android UIs but it comes with AI customization. Suppose you want to match the colour pattern of your wallpaper with your shirt, you only need to click the photo of your shirt, and it will create a wallpaper by analysing the colour pattern of your shirt.
Closing Words
You may have come across this phrase "good things take time to come." Yes that's true but not everytime, especially as far as Motorola's software is concerned. Motorola's software updates were already slow when they used to offer clean Android, hence we can no longer expect quick updates. But keeping that aside, we feel that Moto has excelled in customization and aesthetics, as far as their products are concerned.
