IPL 2025
With the cricket season in full swing, Instagram has rolled out several new features aimed at enhancing user engagement and content creation. These updates cater to cricket fans who want to share match highlights, behind-the-scenes moments, and their support for their favorite teams in a more interactive way.
Longer Reels for Extended Highlights
One of the significant updates is the extension of Reel durations to three minutes. This allows users to share longer clips without cutting out crucial moments. Cricket fans can now capture thrilling catches, big sixes, and memorable commentary snippets in a single, uninterrupted Reel. Additionally, these longer Reels have a better chance of being recommended on the Explore and Reels tabs, increasing their reach beyond followers.
Profile Grid Update
Instagram has also introduced a 3:4 vertical format for profile grids, offering more space for posts. This feature allows users to reposition images to better fit the grid, ensuring that shared content—such as team logos, jerseys, or match-day photos—appears in an optimized manner.
Enhanced DM Features for Better Connectivity
To improve direct messaging, Instagram has added five new features:
- Message Translation: Supports instant translation in 99 languages, making it easier for cricket fans from different regions to communicate.
- Music Stickers in DMs: Enables users to share 30-second song previews within chats, enhancing conversations with music.
- Scheduled Messages: Allows users to set messages to be sent at a later time, useful for reminders or match updates.
- Pinned Messages: Lets users pin up to three messages in a chat for quick access to important texts, memes, or match discussions.
- Group Chat QR Codes: Provides an easy way to invite friends to group chats by generating scannable QR codes, simplifying match-day discussions.
Smarter Insights for Performance Tracking
For those focused on content performance, Instagram’s new Insights updates introduce metrics like View Rate and Views Over Time. These tools offer personalized recommendations, helping users refine their content strategies. With better analytics, cricket fans and content creators can assess engagement levels and optimize their posts accordingly.
