Resetting Your Android Device

Remember those easy days when we had removable batteries and we could easily restart our smartphones even when we were stuck at logos or faced hanging issues? Things aren’t the same nowadays.

Smartphones have locked batteries, but those removable techniques fail when we forget our password or security pin.

A hard reset is also helpful in cleaning your phone in one shot, but it doesn’t guarantee that you will get a fast and flawless performance device after that. Bugs may occur because of factors, like hardware issues, outdated software, overheating, etc.

In this article, I have explained all the methods:

1.) By Flashing Operating System:

This process will replace your current system files with new system files and you can also degrade your OS version with this method.

  1. Download the required firmware from the company’s website.

  2. Copy the zip file into a memory card

  3. Power off your smartphone

  4. Switch on your phone by long-press the power and volume down button

  5. Scroll down the menu and select the “Update from SD Card” option.

  6. It will take around 15 minutes to reset everything.

Disclaimer: This process will erase all your data.

2.) By Hard Format method: In case, you are sure that your software is working properly and you just need to format your smartphone for any special reason, for example: You forget your PIN and Password.

a) Power off your smartphone

b) Switch on your phone by long-press the power and volume down button

c) Scroll down the menu and select the “Hard Reset” option.

d) Select “Erase everything."

e) Now, you are ready to experience your device from a new setup.

3.) Using Command Prompt: This method is highly recommended for those who have a damaged handset but in this process, you need a Windows laptop.

  1. Turn on the USB debugging

Setting > Developer option > USB Debugging

Click here to download the file

  1. Connect Your PC and Android device using a data cable

  2. Wipe data or Factory reset using an Android phone:

C:\Users\Your username\AppData\Local\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools

  • Input

ADB reboot recovery

After following the above step, choose “Yes” in the command prompt.

Warning: All factory reset methods will erase your data, Back up is highly recommended before following any process.
