Amazon and Flipkart, both e-commerce platforms, have kicked off their sales, and we’re seeing some intriguing offers on tablets. We’ve already covered the iPad 9th Gen deal and now banners are highlighting significant discounts on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE and the Xiaomi Pad 6.

The Xiaomi Pad 6 will be available for Rs 16,999, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE will be priced at Rs 19,999. Both tablets have their strengths and weaknesses, so let’s determine which one might be better for you.

Reasons to Pick Xiaomi Pad 6 Over Samsung Tab S9 FE

Price Factor

The Xiaomi Pad 6 is expected to be more affordable than the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE. A Flipkart banner indicates that the Xiaomi Pad 6 will be priced at Rs 16,999, while Amazon deals show that the Galaxy Tab S9 FE will be available for Rs 19,999 after a bank discount. However, it’s important to note that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE includes an S-PEN in the box, whereas you’ll need to pay an additional Rs 5,499 for the Xiaomi Smart Pencil 2.

Display and Battery Capacity

The Xiaomi Pad 6 boasts an 11-inch 1.5K display with a 144Hz refresh rate and support for 1 billion colours, offering much better image quality than the Samsung S9 FE’s 90Hz, 10.9-inch Full HD display. The Pad 6’s display is significantly sharper, with 309 ppi compared to the S9 FE’s 249 ppi. Additionally, the Pad 6 comes with an 8840mAh battery, which is 840mAh larger than the 8000mAh battery of the Tab S9 FE.

Processor

The Xiaomi Pad 6 also has the edge in processing power. It is powered by the Snapdragon 870, a 7nm Octa-Core chipset, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE is equipped with a 5nm Exynos 1380 SoC. The Snapdragon 870’s peak clock speed is 3.2 GHz, outperforming the Exynos’s 2.4 GHz.

Reasons to Choose the Samsung S9 FE Over the Xiaomi Pad 6

Software

The Xiaomi Pad 6 runs on Android 13-based MIUI Pad 14, whereas the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE operates on Android 14-based One UI 6. Samsung has promised up to four years of major Android updates, and its operating system includes support for the latest AI tools.

Cellular Connectivity

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE offers dual-SIM support, allowing you to insert one physical SIM and use one eSIM simultaneously. In contrast, the Xiaomi Pad 6 only supports Wi-Fi, as Xiaomi has not released a cellular version of this tablet.

Verdict

If you’re an average tablet user who primarily uses a tablet for watching movies, playing mid-level games, creating presentations, or light editing, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE would be a better choice. However, if you require a tablet for graphic-intensive tasks, the Xiaomi Pad 6 is the superior option.

Bear in mind that the final prices of both products are quite similar. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE includes an S-Pen, while the Xiaomi Smart Pen (2nd Gen) will cost you an additional Rs 5,499. Moreover, the Samsung S9 FE features dual-SIM support, which the Pad 6 lacks. So, if you need SIM card functionality for calls or data, the S9 FE is the way to go.

The Samsung Tab S9 FE has a better front-facing camera, whereas the Xiaomi Pad 6 has a stronger rear-facing camera. If video calls or conferences are a priority, the Samsung S9 FE should be your first choice.

If you already own a Samsung smartphone, laptop, or watch, you can take advantage of additional features such as document sharing and Windows integration with the Galaxy Tab S9 FE, enhancing your overall gadget experience. Unfortunately, Xiaomi does not offer a comparable ecosystem.
