For starters, 2019 was the last year when South Korean smartphone brand Samsung listed a dedicated selfie phone. It was the Samsung A80, which had a rotating camera module, and now, after 5 years, Samsung has introduced another selfie camera phone, the F55, in 2024. The F-series is known for its best price-to-spec ratio. This phone has a 50 MP front-facing camera and a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor. This smartphone shares most of the features with the Samsung C55. For reference, the Samsung C55 (marketed in China) is sold as F55 in India.

This time, however, Samsung is focusing on content creators/vloggers/selfie-lovers.

Samsung F55 Highlights

Display: The F55 boasts a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED+ full HD display with 1000 nits of screen brightness, making it suitable for use in direct sunlight. Samsung has fitted 397 pixels per inch on the screen to capture crisp images. There is no LED notification light, but it does get an 'Always On Display,' so you don't need to unlock your phone for notifications.

Build Quality: The Samsung F55 has a very different nostalgic feeling, since it evokes memories of the original Samsung Note 3, which debuted with a leather back panel. After years, it's interesting to see mid-range smartphones continue to follow that trend.

The F55 also comes with a leather back cover and a plastic chassis. The phone is 7.8mm thick and weighs 180 grams. The phone's hardware includes fingerprint (under display, optical), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass sensors, plus it has a hybrid model SIM tray.

Processor, Software, and Battery: It is based on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Octa Core chipset. The processor clocks the main core at 2.4 GHz, three cores at 2.36 GHz, and the remaining quad core at 1.8 GHz. The processor is capable of handling your daily-level tasks.

The phone will come with Samsung One UI 6.1, which translates to Android 14.

The F55 has a 5000mAh non-removable battery and the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. It can give you 8–9 hours of battery life because the chipset is based on 4nm architecture.

Camera: Samsung has launched this phone to target vloggers or selfie enthusiasts. The phone's rear has a 50MP optically stabilised camera with a f1.8 aperture and an 8MP ultrawide camera with a 120-degree field of view. The rear camera can shoot 4K at a maximum of 30 fps.

This phone has a 50MP front-facing camera and the capability to shoot 4K videos up to 30 fps and 1080p 60 fps video recording.
