Huawei has confirmed that it is launching the world's first tri-fold smartphone in China. The phone called Mate XT can be unfolded twice unlike the other foldable devices that can be unfolded once. It will join three displays when unfolded. Huawei has confirmed the design and colour of its upcoming tri-fold smartphone, Huawei Mate XT in its Weibo post. It is clearly visible in the video that this phone is going to be very different from the regular smartphone.
Huawei Mate XT Launch Date
The Huawei Mate XT will launch in China on September 10, a few hours after iPhone 16 has launched at Apple's 'It's Glowtime' event. The phone is already available for pre-order and will go on sale on September 20.
This will be the first time a smartphone brand will be launching a tri-fold smartphone commercially.
Huawei Mate XT expected specifications
The Huawei Mate XT will feature a dual hinge mechanism that joins triple sections in the inner display and one cover display. It is expected that the phone will be thicker than normal fold smartphones.
Huawei has not disclosed any on-paper specifications in public, but we can expect a 10-inch inner display when the device is unfolded mode. Just to compare, it will be larger than the iPad Mini’s 8.3-inch screen size.

The internal display is expected to come with an OLED touch screen and Display Driver Integration (TDDI). The thickness of this phone is 11 mm when folded. However, the Tecno Phantom Ultimate is not available commercially.
