Advanced Chat GPT: GPT-4o

OpenAI has launched GPT 4o, making it the most exciting update for free chat GPT users. Here, ‘o’ stands for Omni. It combines vision, text, and images into a single channel. The interesting thing is that OpenAI introduced this advanced AI before the Google event. 

According to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of OpenAI, Mira Murati indicated that this update will open the doors of advanced features to all users and bring the capabilities and intelligence of Chat GPT-4 Omni (or GPT-4o) to everyone. It is worth noting that this new and advanced iteration will be free to use for a limited period. 

GPT-4o

It’s the most advanced version of any existing model of Chat GPT. You can click on a picture of any menu and ask GPT-4o to translate it into any language. You can also get history and other details about food or anything.

In the future, users can access live interaction with GPT-4o via video. You could show any live sports to Chat GPT and the AI will start explaining the rules of that game.

OpenAI is planning to add voice mode features with these capabilities in an Alpha soon.

GPT-4o is now more accessible; it supports more than 50 languages across the globe.

Chat GPT Plus users will get a 5x greater limit than free users, and 'Team' and 'Enterprise' users will have higher limits. In other words, free users have limited usage, unlike subscribed users. 

Chat GPT-free users can access the following features:

• They can experience GPT-4-level intelligence.

• Analyse the data and create charts.

• Chat about photos they take.

• They can upload files for summarising, writing, or analysing.

• Discover and use GPTs and the GPT store.

 But free users can send only a fixed number of messages with GPT-4o; after completing the limit, they will automatically switch to Chat GPT 3.5.

New Desktop App:

OpenAI has launched a new desktop app for both free and paid users. This app is designed to integrate seamlessly into any task you are doing on your PC, plus it's now available on macOS.

Users can have voice conversations with Chat GPT via the Voice Mode feature, but Open AI plans to update that soon with GPT-4o. You can discuss business ideas with it, seek solutions to problems, prepare a questionnaire for an interview, etc. All you need to start the conversation is to simply tap the headphone icon in the bottom right corner of the desktop app.
