Apple has recently been in the news for its abysmal take on its much-advertised Apple Intelligence and Siri. If you didn't know - Apple has officially delayed the rollout of its AI features that it promised at the iPhone 16 series launch last year. Yeah, so that's not happening anymore. There is no information on as to when Apple plans to rollout the advertised features of the Apple Intelligence - and if the recent report by Bloomberg holds any ground - Apple themselves have no clue either.

Bloomberg Report Reveals All

According to a scoop by Bloomberg, Senior Director Robby Walker who leads the Siri team - stated the delay situation in the rollout as "ugly" and accepted that employees may be feeling frustrated by Apple's decision making capabilities. Walker also stated that the missing Siri features may or may not make it to the latest iOS 19 which will probably make ground at its usual timeline for the WWDC event. But that does not mean Apple will not feature an advanced Siri - fingers crossed for that.

The Bloomberg report also revealed Walker saying they are committed to Apple for other projects. He was quoted saying in the report, "We want to keep our commitments to those, and we understand those are now potentially more timeline-urgent than the features that have been deferred."

Tensions brewing in Apple

The meeting also revealed tensions between Apple's Siri division and marketing team. Walker stated that marketing team wanted to show off features like Siri being able to understand personal context and also being able to take action based on the content displayed on the user's screen. But Walker acknowledged that it was not even close to being ready. What made matters worse is the increasing expectations from the consumer's end.

Interestingly, if you did happen to land on the Apple website looking for details on the rollout of Apple Intelligence, get ready to be disappointed. Apple has slyly removed an iPhone 16 advert which showed off Apple Intelligence features and has also peppered the site with disclaimers stating that they have all been indefinitely postponed. Partial reason of them being held back was because of quality issues which caused them to work erratically, according to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg.

In terms of public purview, Apple has accepted that the rollout of the advanced Siri capabilities was taking more time than expected. Walker told his team that senior execs like Craig Federighi and AI boss John Giannandrea were taking "intense personal accountability" for a problem that has been criticized to hell as time quickly passes by with Apple having nothing to show for other than a more cooler Siri animation.
