At WWDC 2025, Apple unveiled its most sweeping software updates in years, headlined by a bold new “Liquid Glass” design and major upgrades across iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe 26, and watchOS 26. The focus this year is on delivering a unified experience that is more fluid, intelligent, and deeply personal across Apple’s ecosystem.

Liquid Glass: A Unified Visual Overhaul

Apple introduced an entirely new design language called Liquid Glass, which spans all major platforms. Inspired by real-world glass, this new aesthetic reflects and refracts light dynamically, adapting to ambient lighting and user motion. It lends apps, widgets, and system interfaces a more vibrant, fluid, and immersive look—making the UI feel more alive and interactive than ever.

iOS 26: Customization & Intelligence Take Center Stage

iOS 26 brings the biggest visual and functional revamp since iOS 7. Users can now fully customise app icons and widgets, while the Lock Screen gains new features including music videos and live content. A dedicated "Games" app consolidates all mobile games into a central hub. Siri sees major upgrades powered by Apple Intelligence, including better call screening and context-aware responses. These features aim to make the iPhone not just more personal, but also more capable and efficient.

iPadOS 26: Multitasking and Creative Tools

iPadOS 26 enhances productivity with a new floating window system and improved multitasking. Users can now organise files with folders pinned to the Dock, streamlining workflows. Apple has finally added the Preview app to iPad, long requested by users. Creative professionals benefit from new Apple Pencil markup tools, dynamic audio layers for background tasks, and Genmoji integration for personalised expressions.

macOS Tahoe 26: Smarter, Cleaner, More Capable

macOS gets a fresh coat of Liquid Glass with Tahoe 26, bringing a cleaner UI and better navigation. Widgets and folders can now be deeply customised. Key new features include Live Activities, Spotlight actions, and a full-fledged Phone app on Mac. The redesigned Control Centre offers more intuitive personalisation, aligning with the updates on iOS and iPadOS.

watchOS 26 and Apple Intelligence

watchOS 26 leverages Liquid Glass to refresh everything from Smart Stack to app navigation. It introduces “Workout Buddy,” an AI-powered trainer that adapts in real-time to user performance. A new wrist flick gesture allows users to dismiss notifications hands-free.

Across all platforms, Apple Intelligence is more deeply woven in, enabling real-time translations, smart productivity suggestions, and a much more conversational Siri. Overall, WWDC 2025 marks a pivotal moment in Apple’s software evolution—more integrated, intelligent, and beautiful than ever.
