Airtel and Apple have come together for a partnership that will make Apple TV+ and Apple Music exclusive to Airtel users later this year. According to the partnership, Airtel will offer Apple TV+ subscription to Xtreme Premium users with some of its specific plans. These customers will get access to all the premium content of Apple TV+ for free.
Airtel has also announced that it is shutting down Wynk Music app and all the users will be transferred to Apple Music later this year. All Airtel customers will be able to use the Apple TV+ and Apple Music exclusively by the end of this year.
Airtel is one of the second biggest telecom operators in India with over 289 million subscriber base. It currently offers OTT service subscription with its broadband plan, Xstream Fiber. With this partnership, Airtel subscribers will now get an even bigger pool of content to enjoy.
This also means that Apple will now compete with the likes of Netflix, Prime Video, Jio Cinema, etc in the entertainment space.
