The Nothing brand was able to achieve a nice buzz among the patrons and on the internet. Not only they are good marketers, but they are also innovative and competitive and offer premium products. We have tried Nothing Ear 1, Ear 2, and Nothing Ear Stick.

Among the three tried and tested products, the Nothing Ear Stick was overpriced to those of its rivals, as far as the pricing is concerned.

However, to widen its potential customers, Nothing has recently introduced the (a) series just like the Pixel ‘A-Series,' which targets buyers who want to enter the semi-premium segment. You will have to pay an MRP of Rs 8000 to experience this new product.

Given that price, you may start reconsidering your purchase and thinking of comparing the Nothing Ear 2 and Nothing Ear ‘a’, so let me help you.

The main difference between Nothing Ear 2 and Ear (a)

Battery Backup: We measure backup ‘with case’ and ‘without case.’ You get around 5.2 hours of battery life on Ear (a) and around 4 hours on Ear 2. On paper, it has a 46mAh battery in buds and a 500mAh battery in the case. Nothing Ear 2 comes with a 33mAh battery in buds and a 485mAh capacity in case.

Both TWS come with type-c and wireless charging cables.

Sound Experience: Nothing Ear (a) and Ear 2 both support the Nothing X app and you can tune both buds according to your taste, both come with the support of Chat GPT.

The latest one comes with an 11mm driver and the older version has an 11.6mm driver, but this time, Nothing has used ceramic drivers for a better audio quality experience.

They both work decently in terms of ANC, the older version can cancel up to 40 decibels of noise and the latest one can cancel up to 45 Decibels.

Clear Voice Technology: No one wants to use the TWS to enjoy music, but should have a seamless calling experience. That said, mics and call quality play important roles in buying Earbuds. The Nothing Ear 2 has 'Clear Voice Technology 2.0' and Ear (a) has 'Clear Voice Technology 3.0.'

The Ear (a) can reduce 60% more unwanted noise during calls.

Best Buy: Nothing Ear 2 was a great product but the new Nothing Ear (a) is more refined and better. Not only in terms of hardware and sound experience but the price point of Ear (a) is also competitive in the semi-premium segment. Currently, the Ear 2 is available at Rs. 9,999, while the Ear (a) is available for Rs. 7,999.
