Bentley has just pulled the covers off its new Supersports, and it’s a car that completely changes the game for the luxury brand. Forget what you thought you knew about the Continental GT being a heavy, comfortable grand tourer. This new model is a strictly limited, two-seat monster that’s built for one thing: pure, unfiltered driving fun.

This is a major shift. For the first time ever, Bentley has built a Continental with rear-wheel drive. They also put the car on an extreme diet, making it the lightest Bentley to roll out of the factory in 85 years.

Only 500 of these individually numbered cars will be made. The order books swing open in March 2026, with the first lucky owners getting their keys in early 2027.

A New Heart and a New Attitude

Bentley tossed out the heavy hybrid systems and went back to basics with a beast of an engine. The Supersports is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that’s been seriously beefed up with bigger turbos and stronger parts. The result is a massive 666 horsepower and 800Nm of torque.

All that power goes straight to the rear wheels through a quick-shifting eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox. To make sure it doesn’t just turn its tires into smoke, it has a smart electronic differential to help it grip the road.

The best part? It comes with a full titanium exhaust system built by Akrapovic. You can be sure this Bentley will sound more like a race car than a luxury cruiser. Bentley says it will do 0-100 kmph in about 3.7 seconds and hit a top speed of around 310 kmph.

Built to Handle Corners

Making the car rear-wheel drive meant the engineers had to rework everything. The Supersports gets a wider stance at the back and even has rear-wheel steering to make it feel more agile.

The brakes are simply enormous. The front discs are made of carbon-silicon-carbide and measure 440mm—Bentley claims they are the largest on any production car in the world. They sit inside new 22-inch forged wheels developed with the racing specialists at Manthey Racing. If you’re feeling brave, you can add optional Pirelli Trofeo RS tires, which help the car pull an incredible 1.3g in the corners.

Lighter Than Any Bentley in Decades

So how did they make it so light? They were ruthless. The engineers saved almost 500kg by:

  • Throwing out the rear seats and replacing them with a custom carbon-fibre tub.

  • Making the entire roof out of a single carbon-fibre panel.

  • Removing a lot of the heavy sound insulation.

  • Getting rid of several driver-assistance systems.

The car’s body has also been completely reshaped for the track. It has the largest front splitter Bentley has ever used, a huge fixed rear wing, and carbon-fibre “dive planes” on the bumper. All these parts create over 300kg more downforce than the standard GT Speed, gluing the car to the road.

A Cabin for Two

Inside, it’s all business. The plush, heavy seats are gone, replaced by lightweight sports seats that sit you lower in the car. The cabin is a mix of leather, grippy Dinamica, and exposed carbon fibre. And just to remind you it’s special, each of the 500 units will have its individual number right on the center console.
