Launched: Volkswagen Taigun GT Line and Taigun GT Plus Sport

Volkswagen India recently added two more trims to their fully-localised Taigun SUV: GT Line and GT Plus Sport. These two trims are exclusive to Volkswagen Taigun's 1.5-litre version.

The German automobile giant Volkswagen has launched two new variants of their subcompact SUV Taigun, named, Taigun GT Line and Taigun GT Plus Sport. These new variants come with numerous subtle cosmetic changes making the car look fresh and appealing.

Volkswagen Taigun GT Line: Exterior and Interior

The Volkswagen Taigun GT Line gets a 'GT' badge on the front fender as well as on the car's tailgate. The car’s roof rails, ORVMs, and alloy wheels are finished in gloss black. The car also gets smoked LED headlamps.

The interior of the Taigun GT Line continues with the all-black theme. This SUV gets a black headliner, and black leatherette seat covers and the entire interior of the car has been styled with a dark theme. In terms of features, the Taigun has a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a wireless charger, an automatic climate control AC, ambient lighting, etc.

Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus Sport: Exterior and Interior

The Volkswagen GT Plus Sport looks striking with its black roof rails, carbon steel coloured roof, glossy black coloured ORVMs, dark chrome garnishing on the door handles, red GT badge on the front grille, front fenders and boot lid. It also has Cassino Black 17-inch alloy wheels, blacked-out LED headlamps, red front brake callipers, and many other sporty elements.

On the inside, this car also has a black roof liner, glossy black finish on the dashboard, red ambient lighting, black grab handles, black leather seat covers with red contrast stitching and a few more dark-themed panels inside the vehicle. Just like the GT line, this version also gets the 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-inch screen as an instrument cluster, a single-pane electric sunroof, electrically adjustable front seats, etc. Taigun Interior 2

Performance

The Taigun GT Line gets a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol (TSI) burner which produces 113bhp and 178Nm of torque. This can either be had with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

The Taigun GT Plus Sport 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine (TSI) with an output of 148bhp and 250Nm of torque. This engine can also be had with a 6-speed manual and an optional 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Pricing 

The Volkswagen Taigin GT Line has two transmission-centric variants on offer- manual and automatic units, which are priced at Rs 14.08 lakh and Rs 15.63 lakh, respectively. The Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus Sport also has two transmission-centric variants on offer- manual and automatic units, priced at Rs 18.53 and Rs 19.73 lakh, respectively. All are ex-showroom figures.
