In terms of rivalry, this vehicle takes the likes of the Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and Skoda Slavia.

Volkswagen Tiguan: May Discounts

The Tiguan SUV is Volkswagen India’s flagship offering. This all-wheel-drive German SUV has generous benefits that are worth Rs 3,40,000 (3.40 lakh).

If you are a corporate employee, you can avail a discount of Rs 1,00,000, plus cash discounts of Rs 75,000, exchange discounts of Rs 75,000, and a 4-year service package (SVP) benefit of Rs 90,000, summing up to Rs 3.40 lakh.

The Volkswagen Tiguan’s price is Rs 35.17 lakh, ex-showroom, and has a standard variant only.

Powering this vehicle is a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. This is tuned to pump 187bhp at 4200rpm and 320Nm of peak torque between 1500-4100rpm. The engine powers all wheels (4Motion) via a standard seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.

The Tiguan’s ARAI-claimed is rated at 13.54 km/l.

Given its pricing and offerings, this SUV locks horns with the Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Compass and Citroen C5 Aircross.
