Eicher Motors-owned subsidiary Royal Enfield has unveiled the updated iteration of their bestselling 350cc bikes in India, called the Classic 350. This bike marked its India debut in 2009 and went through a complete overhaul in 2021 with a new frame and powertrain, making it more efficient, as it used a BS6-compliant engine. Now, after three years, the bike manufacturer is set to launch the 2024 Royal Enfield Classic 350.
The updated Classic 350 is scheduled to launch on September 1, 2024. Plus its deliveries will commence on the launch day itself.
Design
Seeing the images of the 2024 Classic 350, we can say that the bike has received subtle changes, but those tweaks successfully give the modern design language.
To cater to a wider audience, the company has rolled out seven new colour schemes including Green with contrast Chrome, Commando Sand, Jodhpur Blue, Emerald, Medallion Brown, Madras Red, and Stealth Black.
Along with that, the bike has also received blacked-out engine and exhaust setups.
Last, but not least, the fuel tank of the new Classic 350 also houses a new Royal Enfield logo. For those unfamiliar, the company filed for a trademark for one of its two logos.
Features
The most notable addition is the LED lighting. The LED lights, pilot lights, and taillights are now standard across all its variants. The top-spec variants have an adjustable clutch and brake levers as standard, but the lower-spec variants have those as optional.
Aside from that, the reworked model continues to have a retro-styled analogue instrument cluster with a small MID screen. All relevant information is displayed. There is also an integrated USB port. Further, the Tripper navigation pod from Royal Enfield is standard on its flagship Stealth and Emerald variants, but it’s optional on the lower-spec variants.
Specifications
The 2024 Royal Enfield Classic 350 is mechanically the same as before. It continues to be powered by the iconic 349-cc, single-cylinder, J-series engine, which is tuned to generate 20.2bhp at 6100rpm and 27Nm of peak torque at 4000rpm. This engine makes the rear wheel spin via a 5-speed gearbox.
This 350-cc bike stands on a 41mm telescopic fork at the front and twin shock absorbers with a 6-step pre-load adjustment suspension at the rear. In addition, the base-spec variants have a disc-drum setup with a single-channel ABS, while the top-spec variants have a 300mm front disc brake and a 270mm rear disc brake with dual-channel ABS.
Moreover, the updated Classic 350 has spoked wheels - 19 inches at the front and 18 inches at the rear. The alloy wheels are exclusive to the top-spec variants.
Marketing
The ongoing version of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 has a starting price of Rs 1.93 lakh and goes up to Rs 2.24 lakh. Both are ex-showroom figures, as of August 2024. The updated Classic 350 will command a marginally higher price than the current model.
In the 350cc market, the Classic bike will continue to lock horns with the H’ness 350, Jawa 350, Honda CB350, and the Hunter 350.
