Bajaj Auto is preparing to launch two more Triumph motorcycles in the Indian market. These motorcycles will be based on the 400cc platform, which underpins the Triumph Speed 400 and Triumph Scrambler 400X.
Upcoming 400cc Triumph Bikes: Highlights
These motorcycles aim to take the monthly sales figure of Triumph motorcycles to 10,000 monthly units. The brand is currently working on expansion of its manufacturing plants and it is expected that they will be able to produce 10,000 units per month by October 2024.
The brand aims to expand its presence in the Indian 400cc segment by bringing two new Triumph bikes.
Speculations suggest, one of the new additions could be the Thruxton 400, a low-powered version of the legendary Thruxton 1200. This 400cc motorcycle’s design will resemble the 1200cc model with a bubble-type fairing and retro styling.
Currently, there are two 400cc Triumph motorcycles on sale, Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X. Both these machines use a 398.15cc single-cylinder engine, which is tuned to produce 39.5hp and 37.5Nm of torque. The Thruxton 400 will most likely use this very engine and get a 6-speed gearbox like the current models.
The details about the second motorcycle are still unknown but we can expect the yet-to-be-known Triumph bike to use the same engine and churn out similar performance figures.
Triumph’s motto behind bringing these fresh new models to the Indian market is to grab as much share as possible in the growing segment via portfolio expansion.
The pricing, launch details, and other information are yet to be rolled out. But industry reports suggest that these new bikes are supposed to mark their India debuts this festive season. So, we will have more details as we approach the festive season
