Tata is one of the pioneers of the truck business in India. Their commercial pickup truck, Tata Yodha has been around for a long and it still is a very capable workhorse. Tata is the market leader in commercial vehicles in India and Tata Yodha 1200 is one of their popular vehicles.
Tata Yodha Pickup: Features
The Tata Yodha Pickup truck follows a very bold design language with its high bonnet and chunky square clear lens halogen headlights with wide front bumpers with fog lamp housing, plus the fog lamps are only available as an accessory. The Tata logo is centrally placed atop the front grille and gets chunky ORVMs in black. The truck also has a few necessary features like air conditioning, power steering and an optional crew cabin.
Tata Yodha Pickup: Specifications
The Yodha pickup gets a 2.2L VARICOR Intercooled Turbocharged BS6 DI engine which churns out 100hp at 3750rpm and 250Nm of torque between 1000-2500rpm. This low-end torque rush is what makes this vehicle an excellent luggage carrier with decently good driveability. The power is sent to the rear wheels (RWD) via a five-speed manual gearbox. The truck also has the option of a 4x4 system.
The suspension setup on these luggage carriers is an important factor because they have to carry a lot of weight all their life. The iteration of the Tata Yodha Pickup can carry up to 1210kg load in its bed, all thanks to the Rigid suspension with semi-elliptical leaf springs - 5 leaves at the front and Rigid suspension with semi-elliptical leaf springs - 7 leaves at the rear. The pickup truck gets 215/75 R15 section tyres, complemented by hydraulic twin-pot disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear.
Tata Yodha Pickup: Proportions
