As per the reports, Tata Motors is all set to launch the CNG-powered Nexon in this financial year. We first saw the Nexon i-CNG concept at the Bharat Mobility Expo earlier this year and since then, its launch has been anticipated.

Tata Nexon CNG: Expected Design, Features, Pricing, and Rivals

The Tata Nexon CNG will become India’s first ever CNG vehicle to have a turbocharged petrol engine. Other than that, the homegrown SUV will have the same build and design as the existing Tata Nexon.

To differentiate itself from the rest of the lineup it may have an i-CNG badge and slight alteration to the suspension setup to manage the extra weight of the CNG cylinders and other components.

The SUV will be powered by the familiar 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol mill, which currently powers the regular Nexon, which produces 118hp and 170Nm. These power figures may vary on the CNG variant, and that too, on the lower side.

Additionally, the SUV will get the twin-cylinder technology, which we have already seen on several Tata cars. This way the vehicles manage to have decent boot space and the economical benefit of the CNG at the same time. The spare wheel of the SUV will be mounted below the boot area to save space.

Upon its arrival in the Indian market, the Tata Nexon CNG will lock horns with the already-established Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG. This launch will also make the Nexon, the most versatile offering in its segment with CNG, EV, petrol, and diesel powertrains.
