Tata Harrier EV Launch Confirmed for 2025

The Harrier EV is expected to be priced around the Rs 30 lakh mark and will lock horns with the upcoming Mahindra XUV 700-based “XUV e.8”. The XUV e.8 is also expected to arrive in the market by the end of the year.

Tata Harrier EV Expected Design, Specifications and Pricing Details

Tata Motors' one of the most anticipated electric vehicles, the Tata Harrier EV is now confirmed to launch by the end of this financial year, vis-a-vis, the car will arrive before March 31, 2025. Once launched, it will be Tata’s flagship EV, hitherto the arrival of the Safari EV. The car first appeared at the Auto Expo 2023 and was also showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024.

The car's physical appearance is similar to the ongoing Tata Harrier, but the similarity ends beyond this. The ICE Harrier is based on the 'OmegaArc' platform, a heavily modified version of Jaguar Land Rover’s D8 platform. However, as per sources, the Harrier EV is expected to utilize Tata’s modern Acti.EV platform. Since this is a born electric platform, we can expect the vehicle to have a flat floor, V2L and V2V charging capabilities.

The brand has not revealed any of the car’s technical specifications yet, but, several sources state that it's expected from the Harrier to have a 60kWh battery coupled with a dual motor setup, one on each axle, making the Harrier EV a true SUV with the AWD capability. 

The Harrier EV showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024 was a production-ready unit. Just like many other EVs, this homegrown all-electric SUV will have a closed front grille. Besides that, it also has connected LED DRLs at the front along with projector LED headlights. We can expect these elements to be there when the car officially launches.
