The Czech automobile manufacturer Skoda is expected to give a new look to their MQB-A0-IN-based sedan, the Slavia. The upcoming facelifted iteration of the Skoda Slavia was spotted testing in India. It was, however, heavily camouflaged.
In addition to that, the carmaker hasn’t announced anything regarding the revamped iteration, but we expect the vehicle to come very soon. Additionally, it should be safe to assume that all MQB-A0-IN-based cars are expected to undergo a revamp. The cars based on that platform are Volkswagen Virtus/Taigun and Skoda Slavia/Kushaq.
The Skoda Slavia was launched in November 2021 in India.
Skoda Slavia Facelift: Expected Design
Going by the spy images circulating online, the facelifted version of the Skoda Slavia is expected to have a revamped set of headlights, alongside a revamped front bumper. Skoda’s signature butterfly front grille also seems sleeker than the ongoing version. The boomerang-shaped LED DRLs are also expected.
The rear end of the Slavia facelift is also expected to be revamped, as far as the taillights and bumper design.
Apart from that, the test mule was seen riding on blacked-out alloy wheels. That said, the blacked-out alloy wheel will most likely be offered on the 1.5-litre version.
The facelifted version is expected to have changes here and there, but the overall silhouette is expected to be nearly identical to the ongoing version.
Skoda Slavia Facelift: Expected Features
According to the buzz circulating online, the facelifted Skoda Slavia is expected to join the ADAS-equipped cars in India. The manufacturer hasn’t made any official announcement, though. Besides that, the front parking camera, a 360-degree camera, and an electric parking brake are other possible offerings.
However, the rest of the comfort, convenience, and safety features will be carried over from the ongoing version to the upcoming Skoda facelift.
For your reference, the ongoing Slavia sedan currently offers a single-pane sunroof, powered windows (front and rear), a digital instrument cluster, auto-dimming IRVM, a cooled glove box, ambient lighting, and a fully digital touchscreen infotainment unit, to name a few. Further, there is a wireless charger, front-ventilated seats (cooling only), cruise control, connected car technology, and auto HVAC.
On the safety front, the Skoda Slavia has six airbags, traction control, multi-collision braking, disc brakes (front only), an anti-theft alarm, a tyre pressure monitoring system, an engine immobiliser, ESC, and ABS with EBD.
Skoda Slavia Facelift: Powertrain
The Czech automobile manufacturer is expected to retain the current engine options for the Slavia facelift. The currently offered engines include a turbocharged petrol (TSI) unit.
The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit produces 113bhp and 178Nm of peak torque, while the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit produces 148bhp and 250Nm of peak torque.
There are three transmission options: a six-speed manual transmission, a six-speed torque converter and a seven-speed DCT gearbox.
