Skoda Kushaq Onyx Automatic Variant Launched in India; Details Here

The Skoda Kushaq Onyx edition is now available in both manual and automatic transmissions. This edition is exclusive to the 1.0-litre TSI engine.

The Czech carmaker Skoda has added another variant to their existing Onyx edition of the Kushaq SUV. The newly added variant is the automatic variant, which comprises the six-speed automatic torque converter gearbox, mated to a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol (TSI) engine. 

Touted as the most aggressively priced automatic SUV in its segment, the Skoda Kushaq Onyx Petrol AT carries a price tag of Rs 13.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Before this, the Onyx edition was introduced in 2023 which was only available with the manual gearbox. 

Skoda Kushaq Onyx Automatic Variant: Specifications

The Skoda Kushaq SUV is based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, making it directly related to the Skoda Slavia sedan, and Volkswagen’s Virtus (sedan) and Taigun (SUV). 

Under the hood of the 2024 Kushaq Onyx is the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine, which is tuned to generate 113.98bhp between 5000-5500rpm and 178Nm of peak torque between 1750-4500rpm.

This iteration is now available in both manual and automatic transmissions. The Onyx edition doesn’t get a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. That is limited to the Monte Carlo edition of the Skoda Kushaq. 

The Skoda Kushaq’s mileage of the 1.0-litre version ranges between 18.09kmpl and 19.76kmpl, depending on the transmission type. 

Skoda Kushaq Onyx Automatic Variant: Features

Features onboard are the leatherette upholstery, LED headlights with LED DRLs, cornering fog lamps, a rear wiper with defogger, hill hold control, auto HVAC, and paddle shifters. There is also a two-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel with mounted controls for infotainment and instrument cluster. 

This variant has a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Exclusive to the Onyx variant, this offering has scuff plates, floor mats, an Onyx-themed cushions, and an Onyx badge. 

On the safety front, this iteration is equipped with six airbags, central locking, child locks, tyre pressure monitor, traction control, multi-collision braking, an electronic differential lock system (EDS), speed-sensing door lock, and ISOFIX child-seat anchorages, to name a few. 

The Skoda Kushaq has a five-star safety rating, awarded by the Global NCAP. 

Skoda Kushaq Onyx Automatic Variant: Pricing

The automatic variant of the Skoda Kushaq Onyx is priced at Rs 13.49 lakh, while its manual variant is priced at Rs 12.89 lakh. 

However, the Skoda Kushaq’s price starts at Rs 11.99 lakh for the base variant, Active 1.0 Petrol MT, and goes up to Rs 20.49 lakh for the top variant, Monte Carlo 1.5 Petrol DSG.
