Realme 12X 5G: The Most Affordable Realme 12 is here

Realme has introduced their budget smartphone, the Realme 12X. This new smartphone sits below the Realme 12 in Realme’s current budget-friendly series and is a successor to last year’s Realme 11X. The current lineup of the Realme 12 series now consists of four devices- 12X, 12, 12Pro, and 12Pro+.

Realme 12X: Design, Display, Performance, Camera, and Software

The Realme 12X is completely built out of plastic and has a matte finish back panel with twin strips that run from top to bottom in the centre, giving it a premium look. 

The device is equipped with a 6.72-inch FHD+ IPS LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and a peak brightness of 950 nits. All this is protected under Panda Glass and the device also has an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.

Powering the Realme 12X is a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ (6nm) Octa-core 5G chipset with up to 2.2GHz clock speed (refresh rate) and a G57 MC2 GPU, which handles the graphic duties. The device features a 4880mAh battery which supports a 45W wired fast charger. 

The Realme 12X has a big circular camera at the back which houses a 50MP main camera with f1.8 aperture, and a 2MP Black and White camera with f/2.4 aperture. The front-facing selfie shooter is an 8MP unit with an f2.0 aperture, which should get the job done. The camera specifications are decent per se, especially considering the starting price of Rs 11,999. 

The Android 14-based Realme UI 5.0 is what runs the Realme 12X. The brand has promised 2 years of Android updates and 3 years of security updates.

Since this is an entry-level budget device it retains the 3.5mm Headset jack. The phone also has all the basic necessary sensors such as a Geomagnetic Sensor, Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Gyro-meter, Acceleration Sensor, and Fingerprint Sensor.

As mentioned above, the Realme 12X only caters to buyers with a strict budget. That being said, the price of this device starts from Rs 11,999, onwards.
