There is another 650 coming from the Royal Enfield. It will be drastically different from the current Royal Enfield's 650 lineup which comprises the Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, Super Meteor 650 and Shotgun 650. These bikes have one thing in common- they all are road-focused machines, unlike the upcoming Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 which is primarily an off-road-centric bike.
Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650: Performance
The Interceptor Bear 650 use the tried and tested 648cc parallel twin-cylinder petrol burner for propulsion but with a polarising difference from all the other machines that use the same mill. This bike will be using a single two-in-one exhaust system, which has been developed to shred some kilos and make the machine as offroad friendly as possible. This engine produces 47hp and 52.3 Nm of torque on the other 650 models, however, it remains to be seen how Royal Enfield tunes this engine for the Interceptor Bear 650.
Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650: Build and Design
The bike looks neo-retro in the overall design, the fuel tank, minimal bodywork and the tail design complement the bike’s aesthetics. The rear of the bike looks very similar to the Royal Enfield Hunter 350. Handling the suspension duties on this bike are USD forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The suspension setup will likely have more travel compared to their road-focused counterparts.
Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650: Expected Features
Other expected features of the bike include all LED lighting, a digital dash borrowed from the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, and an optional tripper navigation pod. I would love to see the new Royal Enfield Himalayan’s circular fully digital dashboard here but many leaked images suggest otherwise.
Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650: Expected Launch Date and Pricing
The bike will most likely be positioned above the Interceptor 650 in the current 650 lineup. That translates to the Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 commanding a premium. We expect this machine to arrive in the market within 2024.
