After achieving success in the Indian electric scooter market by capturing 49% of the market share in the E2W segment, the Bangalore-based automobile manufacturer aims to expand its portfolio by entering the electric bike segment.
For those unaware, Ola Electric showcased four concepts of their electric bikes- the Adventure, Roadster, Cruiser, and the most futuristic-looking Diamondhead at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) in 2023. One of them is expected to arrive in FY26. That said, it may enter the markets between May and September of 2025.
Sharing their expression regarding their new portfolio, Ola Electric, stated, “We expect to begin delivery of the motorcycles in the first half of fiscal 2026. It added, 'We plan to further expand our product portfolio to also cover mass-market motorcycles to capture a broader base of consumers across different product types and price points in the long run.”
Moreover, the Bangalore-based company revealed the patented designs of their upcoming electric bikes, and they looked similar to the Ola Roadster concept e-bike, but with cosmetic differences. The company also stated that it will use the same platform to underpin all its electric bikes to ensure battery uniformity and correct mid-mounted motor specifications.
Current Players in the EV Bike Segment
As you may know, the electric bike market is yet to pick up the pace in India. There are limited players in the market. Having said that, the players include Ultraviollete, Revolt, and Oben, to name a few.
Ultraviolette Automotive, again a Bangalore-based company, brought its fastest and most power-packed electric bike, the F77 Mach 2, in April 2024. This bike has a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 2.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 3.99 lakh. It has only two variants, which are different from each other, as far as the range and battery pack are concerned.

The indigenous company has only three electric scooters in India: S1 X, S1 Air, and S1 Pro. They are priced at Rs 74,999, Rs 1.05 lakh, and Rs 1.30 lakh, respectively. All are ex-showroom figures, as of June 2024.
