OLA Electric’s three-wheeler has been spotted testing for the first time. The vehicle can be seen wearing camouflage and has a very typical electric rikshaw design with sharp, angular, and edgy body panels.
OLA Electric Three Wheeler: All You Need to Know
The design of the three-wheeler looks like any other conventional electric rikshaw with a windshield at the front along with twin rectangular rear view mirrors mounted on the A-pillars of the vehicle.
Below the windshield are the LED headlights of the vehicle and below them are the front wheel of the vehicle covered with the front mudguard.
The side profile of the vehicle looks similar to other vehicles in the segment and it also gets half doors in the passenger row to provide some safety as compared to the open design of most rickshaws on sale in the market currently.
Mr Bhavish Aggarwal Managing Director and Chairman of the company said, “Our effort is to bring (the three-wheeler) to market soon enough.” He also said that the company has a lot of data from the OLA cab drivers about what the drivers want from an electric rickshaw.
OLA already has manufacturing facilities for electric scooters which as per the brand can be used to build the three-wheelers as well hence the launch seems not too far away.
The company currently sells scooters from company-owned outlets which they plan to change in the near future by adapting new platforms like ONDC (Open Network for Digital Commerce).
Other than this, OLA also has plans to open third-party-owned brand outlets for network expansion.
The electric three-wheeler market is currently flooded with options from various brands. Since OLA has become one of the largest players in the electric two-wheeler market, we expect them to bring some groundbreaking changes with their electric three-wheeler which gives them an edge over their competitors and also provides consumers with quality products.
