The Chennai-based automaker TVS recently dropped a teaser that depicted a width-spanning LED DRL. Industry reports speculate that it could be the facelifted version of the TVS Jupiter 110. The official teaser doesn’t give us a sneak peek into other details, but we expect this homegrown scooter to have a lot on offer.

So, let’s delve into the expected offerings of the rumoured updated Jupiter 110.

Design Department

According to industry reports, the updated TVS Jupiter 110 will incorporate updated lights at the front and rear. For those unaware, this 110cc two-wheeler scooter was overdue for a much-need facelift, plus it hasn’t received any changes since its inception in September 2013.

TVS is also expected to offer new colour options along with the updated design on this iteration.

And keeping the cosmetic changes aside, credible sources believe that the hardware and mechanical components will be retained.

Specifications

Believing that this 110cc TVS Jupiter will have its hardware unchanged; it will continue to be structured on the underbone chassis, and it will continue to stand on telescopic forks and a mono-shock at the front and rear, respectively.

The braking duties are likely to be carried out by drum brakes at the front and rear, but it is likely to get an optional front disc brake. Moreover, we can expect the front disc brake to be accompanied by a 12-inch wheel with a 90/90 tyre section.

In terms of the powertrain, we can expect the same engine setup as before. If it happens then it will have a 109.7-cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine, which is tuned to pump out 7.77bhp at 7500rpm and 8.8Nm of peak torque at 5500rpm.

This engine is deemed to work with the CVT automatic gearbox.

Apart from that, there are reports that TVS is also working on the CNG two-wheeler which is expected to arrive in 2025. This is happening after the launch of the world’s first CNG two-wheeler but in bike version, called the Bajaj Freedom 125.

Pricing

The current version of the TVS Jupiter 110 is offered in six variants. This homegrown 110cc scooter carries a starting price of Rs 73,650 for the base variant, the Sheet Metal Wheel and it goes up to Rs 90,573 for the top variant, the Jupiter Classic. These are ex-showroom prices, as of August 2024.
