MG India has introduced new editions of their flagship SUV, the Gloster. The added variants include the Snowstorm and Desertstorm, which have the same pricing at Rs 41.05 lakh, ex-showroom.
Sharing his opinion after the launch of these two new editions, Satinder Singh Bajwa, Chief Commercial Officer, MG Motor India, stated, “The Gloster has enjoyed popularity among Indian SUV enthusiasts for its design, space, and premium features with unmatched comfort and convenience. We received a positive response from premium SUV buyers for Gloster Blackstorm launched last year. And, today, we're delighted to announce another milestone with the launch of the new Gloster Desertstorm and Snowstorm, both of which underscore our pursuit of modernity and sophistication.”
Like the Blackstorm model, the new editions also get several additions on the exterior and interior. So, let’s delve into the offerings of the new editions of the MG Gloster.
MG Gloster Snowstorm and Desertstorm: Cosmetic Changes
As for the exterior of the MG Gloster, the Desertstorm edition has a Deep Golden bodypaint as the primary colour, and black inserts to give a contrasting look. The black inserts can be seen on the door handles, alloy wheels, front grille, roof rails, ORVMs, pillars, and a spoiler. To give a touch of sportiness, the headlights and brake callipers have red inserts.
The Gloster Desertstorm edition has an all-black interior.
On the other hand, the Gloster Snowstorm variant has a dual-tone colour on the body, comprising a Pearl White and Black colour scheme. To make body panels more sporty, the company has given red-coloured inserts that can be seen on the lower section of the front and rear bumpers, inside the headlights, and on ORVMs. However, the black inserts can be seen on the door handles, alloy wheels, foglamp housing, front grille, roof, etc., and the taillights are also now smoked.
The MG Gloster Snowstorm edition also has an all-black interior but with white contrast stitching.
MG Gloster Snowstorm and Desertstorm: Offerings
It is worth mentioning that the Gloster Desertstorm iteration is available in a six- and seven-seater layout, while the Snowstorm version is exclusive to the seven-seater configuration. Additionally, they continue to offer a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a wireless charger, a 12-way electrically adjustable seat (driver’s side), massaging seats, ventilated seats, and a level-2 ADAS.
In terms of powertrain, the MG Gloster is only available in diesel. There is a 2.0-litre diesel and a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine. The former is tuned to churn out 161bhp and 375Nm of peak torque, while the latter has a peak power of 215bhp and a peak torque of 480Nm. Both engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
This SUV is offered in both 2WD and 4WD configurations.
All-in-all, the new editions have the same powertrains as their standard counterparts.
