MG Comet Received Price Hike; Check Revised Price List Here

MG Motors recently revised the prices of the Comet EV. The company has hiked the prices by Rs 11,000 to Rs 13,000 but on selected variants.

MG Motors in India recently revised the prices of the MG Comet. The company has hiked the prices of this small electric car by Rs 11,000 to Rs 13,000 but on selected variants. 

Not long ago, MG also rejigged the variants of the Comet by adding the fast-charging version in Excite and Exclusive variants. It is, however, worth mentioning that the prices of other variants are unchanged.

MG Comet EV: Power Pack 

This small MG EV is equipped with an electric motor, mounted on the rear axle, tuned to generate 41bhp and 110Nm of peak torque. Powering this vehicle is a 17.3kWh battery pack that has an ARAI-certified range of 230km. 

The top speed of the Comet is marked at 100km/h. 

As for charging, this electric vehicle has a standard 3.3kW AC charger that takes 7 hours to replenish the battery from 0-100%. There is also an optional 7.4kW AC fast-charger, which can fully recharge the batteries from nill in less than 3.5 hours. 

MG Comet EV: Features

The 2024 Comet EV is well-equipped, as far as the features are concerned. That said, this vehicle has dual 10.25-inch screens, a 12V accessory socket, a two-spoke multi-function steering wheel, and an illuminated MG logo. Further, it has connected car technology, LED lights (front and rear), LED fog lamps, power windows, and disc brakes, to name a few. 

For safety, this electric car has a tyre pressure monitor, dual airbags, a rear camera with guidelines, an anti-theft device, speed-sensing door lock, ISOFIX child-seat anchorages, hill-assist, and impact-sensing auto door unlock. 

Marketing

Considering its shape and size, the Comet doesn’t have direct competitors. However, there are similarly priced electric vehicles in India, the Tiago EV and Citroen eC3. 

The MG Comet’s price starts at Rs 6.99 lakh for the Executive variant and goes up to Rs 9.53 lakh for the top variant, 100 Year Limited Edition. These are ex-showroom figures, as of June 2024.
