Mercedes-Benz is giving a second facelift to the Maybach version of the GLS flagship SUV. The ongoing generation of the GLS SUV initially marked its global debut in 2019 and received its first overhaul in 2023. But, recently, the upcoming facelifted Maybach GLS was recently spotted in its testing stage, which is believed to launch in 2026.

Details We Know So Far

The second facelifted Mercedes Maybach GLS will get a few exterior and interior changes here and there.

As for the exterior, the upcoming iteration will get newly designed multi-spoke alloy wheels. At the back, the bumper gets slightly reprofiled and now has a wider chrome strip. In addition, the tailgate’s design is likely to be retained, but the tail lamps might receive new graphics. The graphics, however, might resemble the new E-Class and EQS facelift.

As you can see, the front and rear bumpers are heavily covered. Details are, however, limited, several reports confirm that the 2026 Maybach GLS will receive slimmer design details, plus it will receive more defined LED headlamps that will merge with a slightly reprofiled front grille. The grille’s frame will be flanked by headlamps, though. Moreover, the front bumper will have a new and sporty-looking air dam design which will incorporate chrome garnishes and pronounced creases. It will also have a slightly upright front fascia to give an imposing look.

The front LED light, be it the main headlamps or DRLs, will also undergo minimal design overhauls.

Some sources also speculate that the upcoming Maybach GLS facelift is likely to get some interior changes, including upsized infotainment and driver displays. Another feature we can expect is the addition of the co-passenger display.

Current Mercedes-Benz Maybach GLS

The India-bound GLS Maybach has a fully-loaded single-spec variant, called the GLS 600 4Matic. It is powered by a 3982cc V8 turbocharged petrol engine, which is tuned to produce 550bhp and 700Nm of peak torque via a 9-speed automatic transmission. The power is delivered to all four wheels, hence 4Matic.

The Mercedes-Benz Maybach GLS 600 4Matic carries an ex-showroom price of Rs 3.35 crore. This is as of August 2024. Once its second facelifted version is launched in 2026, the price increase will be witnessed.
