The Indo-Japanese automaker Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the highly anticipated Maruti Suzuki eVX. It will be Maruti Suzuki's first electric vehicle in India. Upon its arrival in 2025, the eVX will rival the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV.

The disguised test mule was spotted testing but the images reveal some exterior design elements, which we believe is the near-production model.

Maruti Suzuki eVX: Expected Design and Specifications

A closer look at the test mule reveals that the SUV will have a distinctive set of LED headlights and LED DRLs, unlike the concept version showcased earlier at the Auto Expo 2023 and Bharat Mobility Expo 2024.

The vehicle's side profile remains simple with minimal curves and plain body lines. The side profile may remind you of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx.

Further, the alloy wheels are also visible and have a minimal design which easily merges into the whole side profile design theme. This is a test mule and an international spec, so the alloy design on the production version may differ from country to country.

The rear of the vehicle can also be seen in the leaked spy shot and it reveals the taillamp pattern (apparently split lamps) which is very similar to the headlamp design. But, we expect this car to have a connected LED taillamp, flanked by the revealed taillight pattern.

Another interesting design element is the rear door handle of the vehicle, which is mounted on the C-pillar as seen on the previous generation Swift hatchback. Further, it seems to get a rear roof spoiler and a shark fin antenna, enhancing its visual appeal.

Other expected specifications of this upcoming EV include a 60kWh battery pack, which may be offered in two variants; one with a single motor front wheel drive, and the other a dual motor all-wheel drive. We, however, expect the India-bound version to have a front-wheel drive configuration.

The vehicle is going through its final stage of development and testing and is expected to enter production by early next year. Upon its official India launch, the eVX will lock horns with these upcoming electric cars, including the Hyundai Creta EV and Tata Curvv EV.
