After a lot of speculation and spied photos, Mahindra has finally launched the facelifted XUV 300. The vehicle has been renamed to ‘Mahindra XUV 3XO’ to give a brand new identity with a brand new face. Let’s see what changes have been made to this Indian compact SUV.

Mahindra XUV 3XO: Build and Exterior Design

The basic structure and chassis of the car remain unchanged. However, the XUV 3XO’s entire front fascia and back have been revamped making it appear fresh and in line with the new-age cars, and the upcoming Mahindra BE series electric SUVs. The vehicle gets a piano-black finish with six chrome vertical slats on the front grille, complemented with C-shaped LED DRLs and LED headlamps at the front. The homegrown SUV's front fascia is also heavily refreshed.

The car's side profile has not received any major changes except for the alloy wheels, which are now finished in glossy black and wrapped in 215/55R17 tyres. The rear of the SUV has also been revamped. It gets a slicker boot lid with C-shaped connected LED taillamps.

Mahindra XUV 3XO: Interior and Features

XUV 3XO Interior

The Interior of the car has also received a much-needed makeover with the new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a seven-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. The SUV also gets a segment-first massive panoramic sunroof. Other features include dual-zone climate control AC, all-LED lighting (only for the top-end variant), Adrenox Connect in-car connectivity system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 65W Type C charging port in the front, a wireless charger, rear AC vents, and a Type-C charging port at the rear. Along with these aforementioned features, the dashboard and the door trims of the SUV have soft-touch leather to make the cabin feel premium and comfortable.

The biggest complaint of the XUV 300 was its small boot-carrying capacity of 257 litres which Mahindra has fixed to an extent by increasing it to 295 litres which is still a little less than its rivals.

Mahindra XUV 3XO: Safety

Mahindra XUV 300 has been a very safe car since its inception and the brand hasn’t made any compromises in providing safety features to this new Mahindra XUV 3XO since the basic structure of the car remains unchanged, therefore we can expect a five-star rating in the safety test as its predecessor.

The long list of safety features of this car include a segment-first Level 2 ADAS and as per the brand, this is the same equipment as the XUV 700 SUV. Other than this, the vehicle also has an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, a 360-degree camera, a blind spot monitor, all-wheel disc brakes, 6 airbags and more.

Mahindra XUV 3XO: Performance

Mahindra has given XUV 3XO three different engine options, one is a 1.2-litre turbo petrol burner which is offered on the entry-level variants and churns out 111hp and can be coupled with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic and the higher variants will get a 1.2-litre TGDi engine that produces 131hp and can be mated to a 6-speed manual or an Aisin sourced 6-speed torque converter automatic. The 1.5-litre diesel can be had in all variants of the 3XO, this engine produces 117hp.

Mahindra XUV 3XO: Pricing

There total of 18 variants of the new Mahindra XUV 3XO on offer and pricing starts at Rs 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom)  for the base MX1 variant and goes up to Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec AX7L variant.
