The Lamborghini Temerario, preceded by the Huracan, has finally marked its global debut at the ongoing Monterey Car Week. This new iteration is Lamborghini’s only junior car, but this supercar is something that shouldn’t be underestimated. That said, it houses a 4.0-litre V8 plug-in hybrid-based engine, tuned to produce 920bhp! Yes, you read that right!

Design

Despite being a successor, the Temerario hybrid-based supercar continues to have the signature Lamborghini silhouette, and interestingly, it’s in line with the new-age Lamborghini cars, especially the flagship Revuelto.

However, the front end of the Temerario may remind you of the Ferrari’s 296 GTB or SF90 Stradale because of the swept-back LED headlights. It also has separate hexagon-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs), and besides that, the bumper looks sharper with a carbon fibre front splitter, and hexagon motifs.

The hexagonal-shaped elements can also be noticed on several parts of the car, such as the air intakes, wing mirrors, tail lights, centrally-mounted rear exhaust and aerodynamic alloy wheels. To keep the “supercar” look, the Temerario has vents on the rear fenders, which channel air into the rear engine, but one thing that’s new over the Huracan is the large aerodynamic port ahead of the rear wheels.

Speaking of wheels, it is available in 20- and 21-inches with optional forged- or carbon fibre.

The rear, on the other hand, has a perforated engine bay with louvres and air vents for optimised engine cooling and aerodynamics. It has a concave profile that channels the air towards the rear spoiler, plus the flanks of the rear bumper are scooped out, as a result, they expose the tyres.

Last, but not least, the rear diffuser is also present.

Offerings

The Temerario’s interior is also fresh and distinctive, and it’s similar to the Revuelto’s. The company’s typical fighter-jet-like cockpit houses a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, and a sleek 9.1-inch co-passenger display.

Like in other Lamborghini cars, the new iteration continues to have the red-coloured covered engine button, mode selector, and drive selector on the centre console.

Aside from that, the company has retained the physical buttons on the steering wheel.

And, this time, the company has aimed to provide more comfort, which has been done on the Temerario. The new chassis, which is all-aluminium, has provided an extra 34mm of headroom, which can now allow 6ft 5in drivers easily, and an extra 46mm of legroom.

Further, this vehicle has 18-way powered seats with a ventilating system, a dashcam, an augmented reality navigation system, and onboard telemetry, to name a few.

Chassis and Powertrain

As mentioned above, the new Lamborghini Temerario is based on the new all-aluminium chassis. The company hasn’t used carbon fibre and aluminium together which was in the Huracan.

The Italian automaker claims that this new chassis boasts improved torsional rigidity by 20%, which helps to keep less weight, albeit its dry weight is 1715kg. If opted for the track-focused Alleggerita package which includes carbon fibre cosmetic additions, the overall weight will be reduced to 1690kg.

As for the powertrain, the Temerario uses the new plug-in hybrid-based 4.0-litre V8 engine, which is the most powerful and highest-revving V8 engine ever installed in a production vehicle. The engine alone produces 800bhp between 9000-9750rpm, before redlining at 10,000rpm.

In parallel, the gearbox-mounted electric generates 150bhp and 300Nm of peak torque, while each rear axle produces 82hp.

The electric motor is a 3.8kWh lithium-ion battery. The combined output is 920bhp and 800Nm of peak torque. It has a top speed of 340kmph, plus it can sprint from 0-100kmph in just 2.7 seconds.

The battery can be charged via the AC charger with up to 7kW of power in 30 minutes or it can be charged via regenerative braking or from the V8 engine itself.

Availability

The new Lamborghini Temerario will have sales commenced in the second half of 2025. The India launch is expected to be soon after. Once launched in India, its price may start from Rs 5 crore (ex-showroom) onwards.
