Kia India has launched a car leasing service in India. If you want to own any of their offered cars, you can do it by paying a monthly fee. This car leasing concept in India is not widely used, albeit it was already there at selected dealerships. This concept, however, is popular and widely used in other countries.

How Kia Lease Works?

The Korean carmaker has launched a new programme, ‘Kia Lease’ in partnership with ORIX Auto Infrastructure Services Limited. This service is going to be very useful for people who don’t want to go through the complicated process of purchasing and maintaining a car.

As per this scheme, the customers have the freedom to opt for purchasing or leasing Kia vehicles without any upfront down payment. The customer can also be free from maintenance expenses, insurance renewals, and resale considerations. Additionally, at the end of the lease period, the customers will have the flexibility to return and upgrade to a new car in accordance with their requirements and preferences.

Kia is offering three vehicles for ‘Kia Lease’ as of now. Details below:

Mr. Myung-sik Sohn, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India said, "The Leasing model is a global mega trend, gaining momentum in India too. This model resonates particularly well with new-age consumers seeking flexible mobility solutions at appealing price points. With an industry forecast projecting 100% growth over the next 4-5 years, we anticipate our leasing service will outpace the industry growth average on account of better product range and service offerings.”

As per Vivek Wadhera MD and CEO at ORIX India, “Leasing is the next big trend in India where people are more concerned about mobility without any hassles attached to it. Leasing provides all that convenience under a single contract which offers attractive rentals linked usage, a fully serviced vehicle, insurance for the full period and the option to change the car on closure of the lease. We expect this space to grow over the coming years.”

The 1st phase of Kia Leasing has been launched in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru and Pune. For Kia, venturing into leasing will enhance its brand image and open incremental sales opportunities. The company is committed to providing dedicated leasing staff and customer care for these new programs, ensuring a seamless customer experience.

Car leasing is a very common practice in many countries. Car leasing may sound new to laymen in our country, but many organisations have been doing this already. Now it is going to be interesting to see how individual buyers react to this option of owning a car.
