Kia has launched a brand new version of its popular MPV Carens, called the Carens Clavis. The name Clavis comes from the Latin phrase “clavis aurea”, meaning golden key. The Carens Clavis is based on the brand’s already popular MPV, the Carens. However, the car comes equipped with several design changes and an upgraded features list for its distinct identity.

Pricing and Booking Date
Kia hasn’t announced the exact price of the Carens Clavis yet. However, since the regular Carens is priced between Rs 10.60 lakh and Rs 19.70 lakh (ex-showroom), we can expect the Clavis to cost a bit more due to its extra features.
Bookings start on 9 May at 12:01 am IST, and customers can book online or at Kia dealerships across India.
What does it mean for the Kia Clavis
I have lived with the OG Kia Carens for thousands of kilometres, and our experience has mostly been positive, and we hope the Clavis suffix in the name does not change that.

On paper, the Kia Carens Clavis is a great new option for families looking for a stylish and feature-loaded MPV. With its modern design, big screens, added comfort features, and versatile engine options, the Clavis seems a tempting option for MPV buyers. The Carens Clavis also does not have any direct rivals, as cars like the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga (Rs 8.97 lakh-13.26 lakh) and XL6 (Rs 11.83 lakh-14.87 lakh) are priced significantly lower, and the OG of the MPV segment, the Toyota Innova Crysta (Rs 19.99 lakh-26.82 lakh) and even the Innova Hycross (Rs 19.09 lakh-31.34 lakh) cost a lot more.
