The Tata-owned Jaguar Land Rover group is on the brim to make a paradigm shift towards future mobility. This will be done to create a fresh start for the Jaguar company. From powertrains to new design language, everything will be changed. This change will be part of the company’s ‘Reimagine’ strategy. This will help the company to regain traction and achieve competitive sales figures.
On the other hand, Land Rover has already turned its tables by launching the rugged SUV, the Defender and revising its luxurious Range Rover lineup. That said, Land Rover has witnessed impressive profits, making it unlike Jaguar.
According to sources, this ‘Reimagine’ strategy will position Jaguar cars to take the likes of the Bentley cars. In addition to that, the discontinued Jaguar models will include XE, XF Wagon, XF Sedan, I-Pace, E-Pace, and the flagship sports car, the F-Type. However, the F-Pace SUV will be an exception, hence it will be the sole survivor.
The spokesperson from Jaguar also indicated that the F-Pace SUV will be available for a brief period, which will also be replaced by a Jaguar EV.
However, Jaguar has finally taken the “better late than never” path, as far as sales are concerned. It is also worth noting that Jaguar aims to go all-electric by next year in 2025. Only a few months are left for next year to start.
What do we know so far?
As indicated, Jaguar is planning to create a new identity for itself. It will focus on setting itself to compete with the ultra-luxury British car manufacturer Bentley Motors. In other words, there will be less volume and higher profit margins.
Moreover, electric Jaguar cars will be architectured on a Jaguar-specific JEA electric vehicle platform. This platform will be engineered to deliver all including performance, dual motor AWD layout, fast charging, and rear wheel steering, to name a few.
Following that, a full-size SUV and a Grand Tourer are believed to be in the works already.
