Mahindra & Mahindra-owned Jawa-Yezdi has launched their latest roadster motorcycle - the Jawa 42 FJ - in the Indian market. The motorcycle has joined the Jawa 42 family which now has three motorcycles- 42, 42 Bobber and the new 42 FJ.
Highlights of the 2024 Jawa 42 FJ
The motorcycle looks attractive with five dual-tone colour options and typical retro styling of the brand with a circular and now LED headlight, circular indicators, and a circular instrumentation pod. The motorcycle can either be equipped with machine-cut alloy wheels or spokes, depending on the variant(s) or users' preferences.
This newly launched roadster bike has done a lot of part sharing with its cousins, as the company wanted to keep the pricing in check, so that it can aggressively compete in the respective segment.
Propelling the Jawa 42 FJ is a 343cc motor which churns out 29.1hp and 29.6Nm. This petrol burner has been borrowed from the Jawa 350, and on that machine, it belts out 22.57hp and 28.1Nm, but it has been tuned differently on the 42 FJ, hence the power bump.
The motorcycle gets disc brakes on both ends along with dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety. There is no single-channel ABS variant on offer.
Pricing of the Jawa 42 FJ starts at Rs 1.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 2.20 lakh for the top-end variant. These are ex-showroom figures, as of September 2024. Interested cutsomers can book this bike by giving a token amount of Rs 942.
The motorcycle locks horns with the likes of the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Honda CB 350, and Hero Mavrick 440, among others.
