Hyundai has been planning its luxury brand Genesis India debut for quite a while now. The news is again picking up after the brand has trademarked a patented design for their India-bound luxury Coupe SUV, the GV80.

Hyundai Genesis GV80: Design and Performance

This performance-oriented SUV boasts a coupe design with a floating roofline. The front fascia of the vehicle features a large crest-shaped signature grille and split headlamp design. The front as well as the rear bumpers of the SUV look absolutely sporty, which uplifts the design language. Enhancing the side profile of the SUV is an attractive set of dual-tone five-spoke alloy wheels.

Globally, Hyundai offers the Genesis GV80 with three engine options: an entry-level 2.5-litre turbo-petrol mill which churns out 304hp, a massive 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol mill that churns out 380hp, and the top-of-the-line variant's 3.5-litre hybrid-based engine with a 48V electric supercharger, which churns out a whopping 409bhp and 549Nm.

Expected India Arrival

As of now, the brand has only filed a trademark for the design patent of the SUV. There is no concrete evidence about this SUV’s India launch yet. However, to get some share in the emerging luxury SUV segment in the Indian market, Hyundai-owned Genesis may bring this SUV by late 2025 or early 2026.
