Husqvarna has globally launched the biggest-ever Svartpilen, the 801. This bike replaces the outgoing Svartpilen 701 model.

Propelling the Svartpilen 801 is a 799cc parallel twin mill that produces 103.5hp at 9000rpm and 87Nm of peak torque at 8000rpm. These numbers may seem familiar because this engine is borrowed from the KTM 790 Duke. This powerhouse is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-assist clutch and a bi-directional quick shifter, which are standard.

The frame of the Husky uses the KTM 790 Duke’s frame but with an adjustable WP suspension whereas, the Duke’s suspension is non-adjustable. Handling the braking responsibilities is a dual 300mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear. The bike runs on 17-inch wheels on both ends.

Even though, the KTM and Husqvarna share the same frame and engine- the overall appearance of the Svartpilen 801 is miles apart, though both are from different segments. However, the Husqvarna Svartpilen 801 fits just right with the modern design language of scramblers.

As for features, this scrambler gets a 5-inch TFT display unit, having features like Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and call and notification alerts. For illumination, this bike is equipped with all-LED lighting.

Features like 3 riding modes(Rain, Street, and Sport), switchable- and cornering ABS, and lean-sensitive traction control are standard. Plus the optional Dynamic pack will have added features like cruise control, 5-step adjustable wheelie control, and 10-step adjustable motor slip regulation.

Pricing and Availability

The Husqvarna Svartpilen 801 bike has been launched only in the USA. It will go on sale next month. It is priced at USD 10,899 which is approximately Rs 9.06 lakh. The European markets will also have this bike on sale very soon. However, there are no plans for it to debut in India.
