To celebrate 30 years of Splendor, Hero has launched an upgraded variant of the commuter, named Hero Splendor Plus XTEC 2.0. This new model gets several additional features over the existing Splendor Plus XTEC.
The design and build remain unchanged except for the turn indicators, which have slightly different shapes compared to previous models. The rest of the design remains the same with newer graphics and three exclusive paint schemes: Matte Grey, Gloss Black, and Gloss Red.
The bike continues to use the tried and tested 97.2cc motor, which makes 8hp and 8Nm and is mated to a four-speed gearbox. The brand claims a fuel efficiency figure of 73kmpl for this bike. The bike is also equipped with Hero’s start-stop system, named i3s technology, which helps it achieve its high fuel efficiency claims.
The major new feature here is the LED headlamp with HIPL (High Intensity Position Lamp). The brand claims these new technology headlights provide a wider throw and enhanced visibility at night. The bike is also equipped with a fully digital instrument cluster with RTMI (real-time mileage indicator) and Bluetooth connectivity for call and SMS alerts, service reminders, etc. Additionally, the bike has a USB charger, hazard lights, and more.
The XTEC 2.0 is priced at Rs 82,911 ex-showroom and competes with the Honda Shine 100 and Bajaj Platina 100, priced at Rs 64,900 and Rs 67,800 ex-showroom respectively. Its pricing may seem a little higher than competitive bikes, but it also offers many more features. For those who don’t care about features, Hero also offers the Splendor Plus, which is priced significantly lower at Rs 75,441 ex-showroom.
