Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) confirmed the official launch of the fourth-gen Swift (hatchback). The official launch date is yet to be declared, but it’s confirmed that the launch will take place in May 2024. The Maruti Suzuki Swift fourth-generation is already on sale in the international markets, but now it is set to arrive in India.
So, below are some things that you can expect in the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Swift.
Let’s read on to find out.
Fourth-Gen Maruti Suzuki Swift: Specifications
The international version of the Maruti Suzuki Swift has a different engine than that of the Indian version. The ongoing Swift in India also had a different engine than the international-spec. But this time, it might not be different, anymore.
As per sources, the next-gen Swift will have the K12 Dual-Jet, 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol unit replaced by the brand-new Z12E (codename from the Z Series engine) 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol unit with mild-hybrid technology.
The new Z-Series 1.2-litre petrol unit is expected to churn out 89bhp and 113Nm of peak torque. It will most likely continue to offer a five-speed manual and an optional CVT automatic unit.
Further, MSIL may also add a CNG version of the Swift later.
Fourth-Gen Maruti Suzuki Swift: Dimensions
As for the Maruti Suzuki Swift’s dimensions, it has a length of 3860mm, a width of 1695mm, and a height of 1500mm. The fourth-gen Swift is 15mm longer, 40mm narrower and 30mm taller than the outgoing model. The wheelbase, however, remains unchanged, which is at 2450mm.

Fourth-Gen Maruti Suzuki Swift: Cosmetic Changes
The upcoming Maruti Suzuki Swift has received several exterior changes. The overall silhouette of this hatchback remains retained.
As for the changes, the upcoming Swift now has a blacked-out honeycomb mesh grille with gloss-black inserts. The front fascia also packs a clamshell bonnet. Besides that, it will have sleeker headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs. With the tweaked front end, the Swift looks even sportier than the outgoing version.
Apart from that, the Indian version of the Swift is expected to run on smaller wheels; 15-inches, most likely. But the machine-cut alloy wheels will be offered in a different design. If you look at the side profile, it will be more or less the same as before, but slightly sportier.
Moving to the rear, the new Maruti Suzuki Swift has smoked C-shaped taillamps.
