The American automobile manufacturer Ford has issued a recall for their well-known vehicle, Ford Mustang. As per the company, the potential fire risk is limited to the Mustang models, equipped with a manual transmission. The company first became aware of this potential damage on April 20, 2024.
After that, they started investigating the matter and found the cause, hence, issuing a mass recall. Ford’s Critical Concern Review Group conducted an investigation and created the report.
The manual transmission versions of the Ford Mustang, manufactured between September 27, 2022, and May 23, 2024, are part of this recall.
Where was the problem?
Under the hood, the barrel nut connecting to the firewall stud is expected to have been installed or positioned incorrectly. As a result, it could be most likely creating the clutch pressure line issues.
If installed otherwise, the line may come in contact with the exhaust components.
Further, the clutch pressure line is prone to melting, which can result in impaired gear shits. Due to this, it can lead to a collision. There are also chances of an underhood fire if the problem persists.
The company, however, stated positive news that this problem won’t impact the braking system. In addition to that, no casualties were caused due to this problem.
Will part replacement/repair work be free of cost?
Yes, any part replacement or repair related to this matter will be done without any cost. The Ford dealers in the US have already been notified and instructed to inspect the cars thoroughly that are part of this recall.
It is also worth mentioning that the company recently notified the owners of the Mustang GT and Mustang Dark Horse to visit their nearest Ford dealership between June 17, 2024, and June 21, 2024, for the inspection.
