Maruti Suzuki has finally launched the highly anticipated Swift CNG in the Indian market. The new generation Swift made its India debut 4 months ago and the brand introduced the CNG avatar. The car is offered in three variants; Vxi, Vxi (O) and Zxi with a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 8.19 lakh.

Performance of the Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG

This CNG-based fourth-generation Swift gets the brand new Z-Series 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine which also powers the petrol-based iteration. This engine has been coupled with CNG fueling for the first time and it churns out 69.75hp and 101.8Nm of torque. These power figures are significantly lower than the petrol-only variant that produces 82hp and 112Nm. The Swift CNG is limited to a 5-speed manual transmission and the brand has claimed a fuel economy of 32.85km/kg.

Features of the Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG

The Swift CNG Zxi is loaded with features such as LED projector headlights, LED DRLs, 15-inch alloy wheels, a wireless charger, automatic AC, a 7-inch infotainment screen, a rear washer wiper and much more.

This feature-loaded high-end model has been introduced to fulfil the demands of customers wanting a feature-loaded factory-fitted CNG car from the brand. It is also equipped with all the necessary safety features like six airbags, ESC, ABS, hill hold assist, etc.

Rivals of the Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG

Immediate rivals of the Swift CNG are the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG and Tata Tiago iCNG. Both the competitors are equipped with twin-cylinder technology which results in better boot capacity as compared to the Swift CNG.

Tata Tiago iCNG is the only car in this segment which offers the convenience of an AMT. The Tata Tiago iCNG starts at the price of Rs 6.6 lakh ex-showroom which is the most affordable car of the trio. The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG slots in the middle and the Swift is the most expensive model in its segment.

Variant-wise Pricing of the Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG

The car is priced at Rs 90,000 higher than its petrol trims, and the base-spec Vxi is priced at Rs 8.19 lakh, the mid-spec Vxi (O) costs 8.47 lakh and the top-of-the-line Zxi CNG costs Rs 9.20 lakh. All are ex-showroom prices.
