The Indian division of Ducati has now unveiled the most powerful Multistrada iteration, dubbed the V4 RS, thereby indicating the launch soon. This is another development since Ducati listed the V4 RS bike on its India website a couple of months ago.

Specifications

As far as the chassis is concerned, the Italian two-wheeler manufacturer Ducati has used a titanium-made rear sub-frame for improved robustness, which is reportedly 2.5kg lighter than its normal Multistrada V4s version. However, the main frame utilises the familiar monocoque unit.

With this chassis architecture, the V4 RS is the lightest fourth-generation Multistrada ever.

But that’s not the only weight-shedding measure Ducati has taken. The company has also incorporated a set of 17-inch Marchesini forged aluminium wheels, and has ditched the top box mounting bracket and the bulky pillion grab handle.

In terms of figures, the Ducati Multistrada V4 RS houses a 1103cc, Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine, which is also shared with the Streetfighter V4 and Panigale V4. Thanks to that engine, the new V4 RS is the most powerful iteration in the Multistrada lineup. Its liquid-cooled engine is tuned to churn out 177bhp at 12,250rpm and 118Nm of peak torque at 9500rpm.

The engine is mated with a 6-speed gearbox, supported by Ducati’s STM Evo-SBK dry clutch and a bi-directional quick shifter.

Further, the Multistrada V4 RS has a dry weight of 211kg, making it 3kg lighter than the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak.

As for the suspension setup, the 2024 V4 RS has a 48mm fully adjustable front forks with titanium nitride (TIN), while the rear stands on a TTX36 fully adjustable mono-shock, and both are Ohlins-sourced. On the other hand, the Ohlins Smart EC 2.0 offers an electrically adjustable comprehensive suspension setup.

In parallel, the braking duties are done by dual 330mm discs at the front with Brembo Stylema monobloc four-piston callipers, paired with a single 265mm disc at the rear with the Brembo-sourced two-piston calliper. In addition, the rear end utilises a single-sided aluminium swingarm.

Features

The Ducati Multistrada V4 RS houses a 6.5-inch TFT display, which reflects navigation, screen mirroring, and RS graphics. Moreover, this bike is equipped with wheelie control, traction control, launch control, engine brake control, cornering ABS, radar-assisted adaptive cruise control, etc.

It also features four power modes (Full, High, Medium, and Low), and four ride modes (Race, Sport, Touring, and Urban). Additionally, there is a Full Power Mode for optimised performance.

Pricing and Rivals

As mentioned above, the official launch date of the Multistrada V4 RS in India is yet to be announced by Ducati.

Besides that, we are sure that it will be pricier than the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak, which currently carries an ex-showroom price of Rs 31.48 lakh. And once launched, it will directly rival the BMW M 1000 XR.
